Council Elections
The Community Council's elections will be held in November. Two positions are up for re-election. Position 1 - Darla Brashers and Position 2 - Oren Johnson. Anyone wishing to run for one of these positions must declare in writing to a council member before or by Sept. 27.

Band Played While Dancers Swayed

Sharing stories, food, music, and dance were some of the highlights during the History and Music in the Park Event on Sunday at the Lyle Activty Center and Park Place. The free event was hosted by the Twin Bridges Museum.

Ribbon Cut
A ribbon cutting ceremony was held on Sunday to mark the official opening of the new pavilion at the Lyle Activity Center and Park Place.
Pavilion Dedication
A plaque was installed to acknowledge the outstanding volunteer work of Norm White and all the other community volunteers who worked so hard on the new pavilion.
Thank you Norm and all the others who contributed!
It is a great asset for Lyle!

Fire in Lyle
Firefighters are working to control the fire that has burned over 1,6oo acres west of the Klickitat River from milepost 1 to 10.
We send our love and prayers out to those whose safety we are worried about.

Project America Run: Remembering Their Sacrifice
One Life. One Flag. One Mile.
Lyle's flag was placed on the corner of 5th St. & Hwy. 14 today.
On May 1st 2010, Mike Ehredt, a retired Postal Clerk and Army Veteran, touched the wheel of his jogger stroller in the Pacific Ocean in Astoria, OR and began an epic 4514 mile journey across the country to Honor and Remember Service Members lost in Iraq. He is currently placing flags that hold a yellow ribbon bearing the Name, Rank, Service, Age and Hometown of those whose dreams and ambitions were taken so quickly from us. The flags are being placed each mile along the roads he is traveling in reverse chronological order by date of death, till the very last flag is placed on the shores of the Atlantic in Rockland, Maine.
This is a personal tribute, a silent memorial for those who have served with dignity and honor and whose sacrifice will never be forgotten.

Haunting the Halls
A local volunteer has captured this image of an unidentified apparition recently seen wandering the halls of the new Lyle Activity Center. It is rumored this happy soul is cheering on the Lyle volunteers as they work on upgrading the building on Thursdays and Saturdays. If you'd like to join the all volunteer work crew, you might just catch a glimpse of the phantom. See you Thursday!
Tour de Fleur Draws Community Support
Long-time residents enjoyed swapping stories at the Twin Bridges Museum during the Tour de Fleur celebration.
Ms. Elenor Bean and band shared their talents for the Tour de Fleur participants outside in the park on Saturday.
